A coloring app you can hand to a child
No third-party ads. No account. Nothing waiting to be tapped by accident. Here is how Nuṛ is built, and why.
The deal
No third-party ads, because Plus pays the bills
Most free kids' apps are paid for by advertisers, which is why a four-year-old mid-drawing is offered a video about a casino game. Nuṛ carries no third-party ads at all. The app is paid for by Nuṛ Plus, the subscription that opens the full book: $5.99 a month or $35.99 a year, with Apple Family Sharing and no free trial.
That is the whole business model, and it decides everything else on this page. When a family pays for the coloring book, the app can be on the family's side. There is no advertiser to please, nothing to interrupt a page, and no reason to nudge a child anywhere.
For grown-ups
The grown-up check
Anything that leads to money or out of the app sits behind a check made for grown-up hands: press and hold for three seconds, then answer a multiplication question written out in words, so it cannot be matched by sight. Three wrong answers close the check for a minute. It stands in front of purchases, restoring, outside links and the parents' settings.
Kid Mode goes further
Kid Mode, on by default, hides the store entirely. A child coloring in Kid Mode sees no prices, no lock badges and no links out of the app, just the pages. A grown-up reaches everything through Profile, then Settings, then For grown-ups.
Privacy
The artwork stays home
There is no account and no password. Colored pages, favorites and settings stay on the iPhone or iPad they were made on. When a grown-up saves a picture, Nuṛ asks iOS only for permission to add to Photos; it cannot see or read the photos already there, and it does not ask to. The pages and the music ship inside the app, so it colors happily in airplane mode.
The full statement is on the privacy page, and the practical details live on the support page.
Nuṛ is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Free sample pages and your first Armenian letters cost nothing; Plus opens the rest. For a note when it ships, write to [email protected].
